Albertina Vienna- VIENNA/NOW Sights

The Albertina Vienna not only has the largest and most valuable graphical collections in the world, with works such as Dürer’s “Hare” and Klimt's studies of women. Its latest exhibition collection presents masterpieces of the Modern, spanning Monet to Picasso and Baselitz. As the largest Habsburg residential palace, the Albertina dominates the southern tip of the Imperial Palace on one of the last remaining fortress walls in Vienna. On permanent display in the Albertina's new exihibition collection are the most exciting art movements of the last 130 years: from French impressionism to German expressionism to the Russian avant garde and the present. Monet's "Water Lily Pond", Degas' "Dancers" and Renoir's "Girl" can be gazed at in wonder, as can paintings by Beckmann, Macke, Chagall, Malevich, Rothko, Rainer and Katz. The State Rooms: The State Rooms of the largest Habsburg residential palace were once lived in by the favourite daughter of Empress Maria Theresia, Archduchess Marie-Christine, and later by her adopted son, Archduke Karl, the winner of the Battle of Aspern against Napoleon. The State Rooms in shining yellow, green and turquoise, partly furnished with original furniture, transport visitors back to the time of their inhabitants. Both the entire gilding of the carvings with the special alloy "Albertina gold" and the artistic parquet floors with rose and ebony intarsia are worth a look. #Albertina #Albertinamuseum #MonetToPicasso #Habsburger #Hofburg #HofburgVienna #AlbertinaVienna #Museum #Vienna Read more about the Albertina: https://www.wien.info/en/sightseeing/museums-exhibitions/top/albertina-338608 //// Music: Colorful by Oran Loyfer - Artlist El Ultimo Bucardo by ANBR - Artlist //// Credits: Presenter: Adia Trischler Idea & Concept: UNIT http://www.unit.co.at Script: Stefan Schlager Producer: Alex Haberfellner Camera: Bernhard Popovic, Andreas Graf Editing & Animation: Thomas Scharf Colors: 61 colorgrading, http://www.61.co.at Audio: Overdub, Gregor Rašek Produced by UNIT //// To be sure not to miss anything subscribe to our channel http://www.youtube.com/Vienna Find all info about Vienna at http://www.vienna.info Viennas Facebook Account: https://www.facebook.com/ViennaTouristBoard Vienna twitters at: https://twitter.com/viennainfob2b Vienna's Instagram Account: https://instagram.com/viennatouristboard/

The oldest parts date to the 13th century, with construction having continued right into the 20th century. The Imperial Palace was the residence and seat of government of the Habsburg emperors until 1918. Today, it is home to numerous museums with outstanding collections, the Spanish Riding School, a congress center, the seat of the Austrian Federal President as well as the historic Heldenplatz. For more than seven centuries, the Habsburg empire was ruled from the Hofburg Imperial Palace. Today, the Gothic Imperial Chapel, where the Vienna Boys’ Choir performs during High Mass on Sunday, is a remnant of the Imperial Palace during the Middle Ages. In the middle of the city center, you can marvel at the splendor and magnificence that made up the everyday life of the former imperial family on a visit of the private chambers and staterooms. Numerous museums and collections represent the imperial family’s passion for art. Historically developed complex: The Imperial Palace, which until 1918 was inhabited by the imperial family, was originally a castle built in the thirteenth century, which was extended to a splendid residence in accordance with the increasing power of the Habsburgs and the expansion of their realm. Today, the Imperial Palace houses the office of the Federal President as well as an important congress center and numerous art collections. Historic Heldenplatz, once planned as an extensive imperial forum, is dominated by the monumental equestrian statues of Prince Eugen and Archduke Karl. This spot affords the best view of the Imperial Palace as well as the adjacent Volksgarten. //// Music: Follow me tonight - Premiumbeat Bliss Bay - Premiumbeat //// Credits: Presenter: Adia Trischler Idea & Concept: UNIT http://www.unit.co.at Producer: Alex Haberfellner Camera: Bernhard Popovic, Andreas Graf Editing, Animation: Thomas Scharf Colors: 61 colorgrading, Audio: Overdub, Gregor Rašek Produced by Unit //// To be sure not to miss anything subscribe to our channel http://www.youtube.com/Vienna Find all info about Vienna at http://www.vienna.info Vienna's Facebook Account: https://www.facebook.com/ViennaTouristBoard Vienna twitters at: https://twitter.com/viennainfob2b Vienna's Instagram Account: https://instagram.com/viennatouristboard
